Done

No more tomato sandwiches for breakfast. At least none with garden tomatoes. They're done for the year.

(I will be brave).

My post cards are done. I bought the last of the stamps today, and affixed them, and sent up a hope that somehow, they will make a difference. They are rubber banded together and ready to be mailed on the 26th.

I did not listen to the Fox Interview, but from what I read, Harris held her own. In my opinion, it took a lot of guts to do an interview with Bret Baier. DJT couldn't even bring himself to do an interview with 60 Minutes, because he felt that they owed him an apology over something that had not been said. That and the fact that they were fact checking. If you're going to pull out of something because you're going to be fact checked, well, to me that says plainly that you were headed into with every intention of lying your head off.

Tomatoes are done. Postcards are done. I most fervently hope that tRUMP is done too.

I received two more mailings urging me to register to vote. I figured it out. These are arriving to 'Debby'. I'm registered under my full name which is 'Deborah'. So Duty to America is wasting money on me, and I'm okay with that.

I feel the need for a giggle.

I'm done.

    1. It really boggles my mind to hear UK residents who were quite put out with BJ trying to tout DJT as 'america's only sensible choice.' I think they are simply trying to be provocative, which is a strange reason to have a blog, don't you think?

  3. Can we hope that #45 will post election, become an evil historical figure?

  4. Thanks for the laughs, I needed that.
I can't wait for this election to be over but of course, it won't really be over until January.

    1. I don't think it will even be over in January. As long as 45 keeps getting press coverage, as long as he keeps running his mouth, as long as he can find loyalists in the government, he can continue to make trouble. However, winning is the first step to permanently dealing with his bullshit. I hope to see some of these loyalists losing their jobs.

    1. Did you happen to catch his Bloomberg interview. He said that the problem with the economy was that old people were in charge. The interviewer did point out that he was 78 years old and running for president.

  6. The dang texts I got telling me I wasn't registered to vote were marked as "to Melissa". I hope Melissa checks her voter status.
As to the election- if I believed in prayer I would not get off my knees for the next three weeks.

    1. "Missy" Moon. That gives me a giggle! Here's the deal, Ms. Moon. The first time around, no one really believed that tRUMP had a snowball's chance in hell. I never saw him as winning. I was working third shift, and on break, I saw that he'd won. My daughter, who was in Afghanistan at the time, e-mailed me and said, "What in the actual FUCK happened?" and I said, "I couldn't tell you. I honestly could not tell you." The second time he ran? People knew he could win, and they turned out, didn't they. It was close, but Biden won that election. During this whole presidency, we've seen Donald Trump still influencing the republican party. We've seen him calling the speaker of the house with directives on voting. We've seen senators and congressmen aligning themselves with a man who had been voted out by America. Those folks need to go too. Their loyalties should be with their nation. America has seen the chaos, and America is galvanized. In my heart, I think we are going to see our nation come together. As the political climate changes, all these noisy trouble makers are going to quiet down, because they realize that to keep their jobs, they have to. That is how I see it. Maybe I'm dead wrong, but I cannot help feeling hopeful.

  7. Still lots of garden tomatoes here. I pick them and put them in the basement.

    1. You know, Red. I'd like to hear more about that. I know people who swear that the Amish wrap their tomatoes in newspaper and put them away in their attics for the winter and have fresh tomatoes all winter. Seems to me to be a sure fire remedy for a house full of fruit flies.

  8. The polls are making me nervous as heck, but I keep trying to tell myself the same 10 people are the only ones that are not deleting them. . . .

    1. I've given up on the polls. Really. You get one set of numbers from right wing polls and an entirely different set of numbers from the left wing polls. I try to look at the enthusiasm and the fact that Democratic candidates are massively outraising their Republican counterparts. The early voting numbers. I see every reason to have faith in our country's common sense. Yeah. We got our fruitcakes. But they are a minority. They do make a lot of noise though, don't they?

  9. Ah, that explains it! Yes, I'm done with Trump too. Please God.

  10. All in all I'd say Madam VP handled that horse's ass Baier well, it wasn't really an "interview," it was a session of him asking questions and then interrupting her and trying to talk over her. That didn't work well, she more than held her own. You can tell that she did well because all you could hear from the MAGAT contingent was a sound resembling the bleats of a goat being fed into a wood chipper. VOTE! We have already done so. Filled out ballots at home with the voter pamphlet and a cup of coffee and put them in a dropbox at the local library. Simple & easy. Cheers!

    1. I thought she did well, myself. Baier repeatedly tried to ambush her, but he didn't. She's unflappable. Trump? Always flapping.

  11. The polls have them neck to neck right now and it's scaring the bejesus out of me. He is so evil and I really wonder about his supporters. WHAT are they thinking? I was too frightened to watch Kamala on FOX. Thank you for letting me know she did OK. Good for her. She has right (not The Right) on her side.

    1. What gets me is the signs. Oh, the SIGNS! Here, popular ones say Trump-Safety. Kamala-Illegals. That's it. And the thing is, they're effective. In some people's minds, it really is that simple.
