Yay!

We have two gasoline weed wackers/strimmers, and I cannot start either one of them. Peeves me to no end.

Today, I got a battery powered Stihl.

Happy as a pig in mud.

  2. I love my Ryobi weed wacker. It's lightweight and I have two batteries for it so it's always ready to go. I still remember my late husband swearing loudly at the gas/oil one that he had; it refused to start every spring when he was ready to do yard work.

  5. We have one. Keith's illness meant he couldn't start it so we've had it checked over and it's now ready for the man who cuts the grass to use this autumn on the paddocks. Have fun with yours - a no-brainer to buy that, really!

  8. I have gone to battery powered equipment because I can't start any of my old gas-operated ones. I love them. Also, I wish people would realize that around 60% of our electricity comes from fossil fuels. But if it makes you feel better to use electricity, have at it.

    1. Number 1. I said we have two gas powered ones that I cannot start. That was my frustration.

Number 2. While your comment about the generation of electricity is undeniably true, there are other considerations which make these tools better for our environment. https://www.almanac.com/content/backyard-battle-gas-vs-electric-lawn-tools

Number 3 Don't be snarky behind the safety net of your 'anonymous'. It really is cowardly.

    2. Sorry, I didn't intend to sound snarky. I was making the comment to someone else's comment regarding the earth heating up. I didn't mean to offend.

  9. Charging a battery is way better than having to fetch & keep a can of gas in your garage. Even worse if it needs to be mixed with oil for a 2-cycle. Good choice!

  10. It's those little things! I love my battery trimmer. I do all the trimming around my flowerbeds, he does the rest. Makes for peace in the home, lol.

  11. Those gas whacker are too heavy for most women. I used a light electric corded trimmer and I find it so much easier than gas.

  13. I have a DeWalt battery operated one and love it too. I’ll never go back to a pull start gas one.
