I had a nice visit with Chris' mother, and came away much encouraged by the conversation. We will, of course, keep a close eye on the situation. Walter knows that any misteps in the next two years will see him arrested and charged, so we are hopeful that this will sidestep any ideas of retaliation. It also explains why his mother was so angry at me, I imagine, since I put the issue in the public eye.
There are other things going on behind the scenes which I am not at liberty to discuss, but it seems like things are headed in the right direction.
Once home, I spent the rest of the day folding laundry. Then I rearranged the bedroom so that our bed is closer to the bedroom door, making it easier for Tim post surgery.
You have done some good at school by the sound of it. It is nice that you and Chris' mother were able to have that chat.
ReplyDeleteShe's very grateful that she found out about her son's problems. She's a nurse, and a single parent, and she's feeling bad that she missed it. She said she's cried more since she found out than she's ever cried in her life. She's just so grateful it was called to her attention.
DeleteI've lived for 70 years and never lifted a bathtub with a tractor - so not boring at all!
ReplyDeleteThe thing weighs more than 300 pounds.
DeleteI've written far more boring posts than this! LOL
ReplyDeleteGlad you talked with Chris's mom and things seem to be moving in the right direction.
Oh boy. This sounds like a challenge to a competition.
DeleteWhen I saw your post title I thought you were going to talk about my blog!
ReplyDeleteSeems like things are settling down now.
Generally the dust settles.
DeleteGlad that you have helped Chris's mum to take action and to help her son. Poor lad. It sounds like he has the law on his side from now on.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got that bathtub in and things sorted at home for Tim post surgery.
Walter has been making kids miserable for a while now.
DeleteI would have liked to read much more about folding laundry.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! This made me laugh out loud.
DeleteI had missed the original post. Now remedied. Well done. I'd have been far too cautious. Glad you've chatted to Chris's Mum. Hope all goes will nearer to home.
ReplyDeleteIt is a waiting time. And waiting is the hardest part.
DeleteNot so banal really. Most posts by most people, including mine, are not all that exciting. I am in such a banal frame of mine that I can't even think of posting for a few days.
ReplyDeleteI almost didn't. Unfortunately for you, I couldn't sleep.
DeleteYou "did good Mon louloute!" (little wolf) as my accented French Canadian Grammy would have said. Particularly if one had done something brave or difficult. You've done just that. Well done Deb.
ReplyDeleteI just hope the changes are long term.
Delete"Evil flourishes when good men do nothing." Good woman, you saw an evil situation and acted to stop it. It takes guts to speak up like that. Few people have it these days. There is a yellow haired bully with a red tie I know of that needs to be stopped. Will you tackle that job next?
ReplyDeleteBelieve me, Ana I lend my voice to that effort. I tell my grandson that if everyone sticks together, the bully can't win.
DeleteNot boring atall...progress all round.
ReplyDeleteWe were quite worried about that tub. I was able to tip it on its apron. Tim positioned the bucket under the tub, tilted it back, and the tub fit perfectly. We ratchet strapped it for safety, tractored it over to the house and lifted it through the opening for the sliding glass doors. Easy peasy. The stove, with its cast iron guts was another challenge, but since we had practiced on the tub, it went smoothly.
DeleteYour life is so much more exciting than mine that your posts are never boring to me!
ReplyDeleteSurely not!
DeleteYou are doing the hard work, Debby, and you are making the good choices. I am so grateful that you have been able to help Chris AND his mother. Hopefully, this will be the beginning of better communication for them.
ReplyDeleteHis mother said she has learned to ask new questions about her kids' days. She is very upset with herself that she missed all of this.
DeleteWell, it's not boring what you're doing with a bully. We had middle school problems with bullys. It wasn't funny. Most of the time the bullys won.
ReplyDeleteThat is sad, Red.
