I suppose the talk was overdue, really. I said nothing that I hadn't already said before, repeatedly, but there's something about when I get really, really upset, he does sit up and take a bit of notice.
(Spoiler alert: I was really, really upset.)
The good news is that we seem to have reached an understanding, and I'm pretty sure that we are in agreement about the direction that we need to be headed in, which is a relief.
We've got a tenant leaving. Tim thinks we'll need to replace some carpeting. Just one more thing to put on our to-do list right now, which we need like a swift kick in the pants. We hadn't planned on even beginning to advertise until next month, but interestingly enough, we had someone contact us tonight. Tim and she know each other from high school. She wanted to come and look at the apartment right away, since she's going on vacation next week until April 2nd. I'm not sure when our present tenant will be officially moved, but we love her, and we would never want to pressure her. Since we didn't plan to advertise until April anyway, it all kind of works out. We'll just hold off advertising it until she's seen it. She's a retiree. Kind of dicey proposition since now, all of our tenants are retirees. If Social Security goes bust, we will be in a real pickle.
Life is a roller coaster sometimes, but getting off is not an option.
But it seems to be much easier if Tim and I are in the same car.
Looks like things are easing along...hope the rental works out ok.
ReplyDeleteSounds a little less stressful now.
ReplyDeleteOften things look bad for a while but somehow take a turn for the better with a positive outlook.
It really upsets me if I have to make a stand, but sometimes it is necessary.
ReplyDeleteI hope the rental situation works itself out for the best.
I like to say with confidence that surely #47 won't cut Social Security to those in need. I'd really like to say that with confidence.
ReplyDeleteShe sounds very keen. I had someone like that on a house I rented out because of negative equity. It worked out so well I gave her back three month's rent when she left and I sold it.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're on an even keel now. That must feel better.
