Explained

It's kind of obvious that the last couple days have been discouraging ones. After not letting things get to me, well...they up and got to me.

I've been feeling dull and tired and uninspired and bleeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaah...

And today, I am (once again) down with a cold. Covid at the beginning of October for a couple weeks and two colds since for those keeping track at home.

That may be a record.

It also counts for that hopeless despairing mood.

I've been meaning to ask...I've lost my revolver globe at the bottom of the screen. Trying to figure out why today, it told me that it was because the time on the map was different than actual time. But when I went to investigate that, my screen locked and all these warnings to call microsoft immediately popped up with an ominous alarm in the background. I control-alt-deleted myself out of there without calling the number flashing on my screen, of course. (I did not fall of the turnip truck yesterday...) but I am curious. Anyone else seeing that? I will delete the feature from my blog layout and perhaps try to install later.

  1. Oh I am sorry to hear that you have another cold. Hope you feel better soon.
I have found that those revolving globes show me in the wrong location. I never pop up as "Naperville, IL" or even "Chicago, IL" So I have quit looking at them anyway.

    1. I noticed that when I am at the retirement property, the globe showed me in Meadville, which is some distance away. Of course, there, we don't have internet at all, so I am on my phone and I think that it has to something to do with where ever our phone signal is coming from.

  2. Sue was up before me today, which is highly unusual. She's been avoiding thinking politics, but then she was and couldn't sleep. I had one of my better sleeps -- 7 whole hours. Woo hoo!

    1. 7 hours of sleep! Wow! You're probably able to leap tall buildings in a single bound today!

  3. Or perhaps you are getting sick because you are in a hopeless, despairing mood. Whatever- you poor thing.

    1. In thinking about it, that probably has something to do with it. Gaetz leading the DOJ. A news person speculated (GOD I HATE WHEN THEY DO THAT!!!!) that his appointment would lead to mass resignations. I'm just a spectator, but wtf do they think will replace them? I think that's part of the strategy.

  4. Sorry you are poorly again. It has not been a great time recently.
Thanks for the heads up about the iffy revolvermap. Mine has now been consigned to the bin, just in case.

    1. Compared to you, I have nothing at all to whine about. Although that has never actually stopped me from whining.

  5. I had the revolver map for a few days, but then decided it was unnecessary crap and deleted it. Hope you feel more positive soon.

    1. It's probably just as well to leave it alone. You're right. Unnecessary crap.

  6. Sorry to hear you're unwell again. It sounds as though you're run down and need a pick-me-up of some sort.
There are lots of scammers 'out there' ready to catch the unwary. It's a pain.

    1. I do find myself thinking that perhaps I am a low ebb right now. That might account for it, but I'm pushing fluids and trying to find small reasons for cheerfulness. They are there. They are always there. I just forget to look for them sometimes.

    1. I feel much better tonight. The covid just hung around so long that I came to the realization that it was not a 'normal' cold. This cold seems to be running a normal course, and on its way out already.

    1. Today, I chopped vegetables and mixed them with the left over turkey and made a pot pie. It turned out well. It was a quiet day. I really have had quite a few quiet days since Tim's been hunting in the afternoon/evening.

  9. That's quite a run of miserable health. Let's hope this is the last and you are back to normal.

  10. My observational skills are clearly not good. I never noticed the globe. Wonder what else I have missed lately. Sorry about the cold, they're awful out of all proportion.

    1. I keep telling myself that, in the great scheme of things, a cold is not a big deal. It's just that I never seem to recognize that run down feeling just before it hits.

  11. I am so sorry you are sick again. We were just talking here about last October where I was at the pediatrician with my grandkids (while mom works) four weeks in a row with RSV, strep throat, a reaction to antibiotics and then another strep throat. I had bronchitis and lost my voice. It is so depressing and frustrating and just crappy when you are sick for a long time. I hope you do feel better soon.
You sure don't need computer problems on top of everything!

I will. It is resolving already. It's not nearly as bad as the last cold.

  13. I don't have that globe anymore. I haven't seen that warning... yet. There are so many goofy things these day. I'm always nervous when something new pops out.

  14. I'm sorry you're having all these health problems right now. You've just reminded me that we should be going to get our COVID and flu shot right now. We took mom to get hers at Kaiser but haven't signed up for ours yet. Yikes!

  15. I've read before that stuff like that has a high likely hood of being exploited so I try to refrain from them. But it was a shame. I quite liked seeing myself spin on your globe while I was composing a comment.

  16. I've never used that app and didn't notice it on your site. I'm glad you didn't take the bait when the doom machine hit. I see in your comments that we have a lot of the same followers. Hope this cold resolves quickly.
