I have never caught covid either, at least not that I'm aware of. Early on, in the weeks before Covid became a thing, I caught a mild cold, but mostly, I was just exhausted. I felt like I could have slept for days. I sometimes wonder if that was covid. That was before the tests.
Bummer! Use an at-home covid test to make sure. Try zinc lozenges (Cold-Ezze) is name brand. They help and shorten the cold, but kill your sense of taste for a couple of days into a metallic taste. Linda in Kansas
Bahahahhahahahaha!!! Oh my gosh, that's too funny. But, you know what? I'm going to make some ham broth for a nice pot of potato soup tomorrow! That sounds delicious! Think I'll skip trekking out into the woods for leeks right now.
Oh dear. Not nice. I use Sinex nasal spray at the first sign of a cold. It is supposed to coat the lining of your nose and throat to stop the pesky virus from clinging on and multiplying. Seemed to work for me last time.
Now there...you've taught me something that I did not know! Certainly a good thing to keep in mind, for the next cold. (And lord knows, there will be a 'next cold'!
Three days coming, three days here, three days going Grandma always said...and was usually correct. Once you can properly concentrate on a book you will know that you have seen it off! We take Echinacea drops in water to help our immune system when we get an infection. Doesn't get rid of a cold but helps the body do it's job (((0))) Hugs x
We have echinacea capsules here. Never thought of it. This was a 'cold lite'. a day and a half coming down with it, a day and a half with it, and it seems to be on its way out.
That was my first thought. My oldest grandaughter had strep (and was treated for it) the week before she came. I got over things too quickly for it to be strep. I haven't even had to take aspirin today.
I hope it is a short, regular cold for you. The last one I got was right before Christmas and it was only about mid March before I finally could shake the thing.
Debby I sure am sorry and hope you get better soon. I was thinking of you the other night, I was reading an old Erma Bombeck book and she just put me in mind of you. I'm sure you've read all her stuff by now!
I am that way every night of my life, I change sides to change nostrils.
ReplyDeleteI wish that my nose situation had a solution...
DeleteColds suck. Make it a short one.
ReplyDeleteThat's the plan, sistah!
DeleteI am almost over a cold. I can't understand how I can catch colds but not Covid. I hope yours disappears rapidly.

DeleteI just got over a cd myself. No fun, that. So sorry, Debby
ReplyDeleteMostly just an awful, awful sore throat. If the nose and the throat could settle down, I think that I could deal with the rest of it.

ReplyDeleteIt wasn't a great night, but I am feeling much better today.
DeleteOh sorry to hear that you have had it rough. Glad that you have some entertainment
ReplyDeleteI think I am past the rough part. I see my future and it still involves breathing through my nose. (happy dance)
DeleteLeek and pot soup works wonders for colds Debby.
ReplyDeleteLeek soup I understand. Pot? Like, um...marijuana? I have questions about just what all you are growing out there on that small holding, Dave!
DeleteEven leek and potato soup Debby.😊

DeleteHope you are feeling better soon, nothing nicer than a pile of good books and time to read them.
ReplyDeleteReading while you're sick is wonderful. No guilt!

ReplyDeleteYes, you did. I rescued you!

DeleteRestrain you r generous nature and keep your cold to yourself.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel more human soon.
LOL. Now this made me laugh!!!!
DeleteFeel better soon, Debby!
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference a day makes! Just 24 little hours... Throat is settling down, and I'm nasally but breathing!
DeleteOh dear. A case of the "common cold" can knock you off your feet. Time for chicken soup.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have a vegetable smoothy for supper.
DeleteWith a super sore throat, I always suspect strept has settled in. You may want to get checked just to make sure it's just a cold!

ReplyDeleteUgh. Tim had a cold like that last year. Glad you're feeling better. I bet all that warm sun in Greece had something to do with it!

ReplyDeleteI used to read her when I was a kid. Judith first also.
DeleteSigh. Judith Viorst.
DeleteI hope you feel better real soon!!🥰 -Rigmor
ReplyDeleteGet well soon!
ReplyDeleteI sure hope you are totally recovered now. Colds and flus and aggravating.
