*sniff!*

Well, I've caught cold.

I'm on the mend. *snuffle*, but luckily, I have a nice pile of funny books on the table to read at my leisure. (Thanks again)

    1. I have never caught covid either, at least not that I'm aware of. Early on, in the weeks before Covid became a thing, I caught a mild cold, but mostly, I was just exhausted. I felt like I could have slept for days. I sometimes wonder if that was covid. That was before the tests.

    1. Mostly just an awful, awful sore throat. If the nose and the throat could settle down, I think that I could deal with the rest of it.

  4. Bummer! Use an at-home covid test to make sure. Try zinc lozenges (Cold-Ezze) is name brand. They help and shorten the cold, but kill your sense of taste for a couple of days into a metallic taste. Linda in Kansas

    1. Leek soup I understand. Pot? Like, um...marijuana? I have questions about just what all you are growing out there on that small holding, Dave!

    3. Bahahahhahahahaha!!! Oh my gosh, that's too funny. But, you know what? I'm going to make some ham broth for a nice pot of potato soup tomorrow! That sounds delicious! Think I'll skip trekking out into the woods for leeks right now.

  8. Oh dear. Not nice.
I use Sinex nasal spray at the first sign of a cold. It is supposed to coat the lining of your nose and throat to stop the pesky virus from clinging on and multiplying. Seemed to work for me last time.

  10. Three days coming, three days here, three days going Grandma always said...and was usually correct. Once you can properly concentrate on a book you will know that you have seen it off! We take Echinacea drops in water to help our immune system when we get an infection. Doesn't get rid of a cold but helps the body do it's job

    1. We have echinacea capsules here. Never thought of it. This was a 'cold lite'. a day and a half coming down with it, a day and a half with it, and it seems to be on its way out.

  14. With a super sore throat, I always suspect strept has settled in. You may want to get checked just to make sure it's just a cold!

    1. That was my first thought. My oldest grandaughter had strep (and was treated for it) the week before she came. I got over things too quickly for it to be strep. I haven't even had to take aspirin today.

  15. I hope it is a short, regular cold for you. The last one I got was right before Christmas and it was only about mid March before I finally could shake the thing.
