I finished Watership Down. What a wonderful, richly detailed book! It has been such a long time since I read a story that I simply didn't want to end.
Watership Down is one of those stories that I could read again and then discuss it with my daughter which is the good part.
That book has stayed with me for years and years, Parked inside my head and my heart and changed my perspective utterly. I still cry when I remember it - thanks to you I am remembering it now and my face is wet. I worry for the beavers....
Oh gosh, Watership down. It must be thirty years since I read that. One of those stories that stays with us though.
I will have to read it! I just finished "West with Giraffes" and enjoyed that very much too!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I know I sure did. The one Ellen just read (West With Giraffes).... I loved it, too. Read it!!
I read it 40-plus years ago and I still remember how much I loved it!
I believe it was first published in 1972 but I didn't read it till the late seventies. Can't remember much about it now. I am so glad that it captivated you.

I really loved that book too. I used to be irritated at all the bunnies that were making nests in our lawn. After reading that book, I looked at them very differently.
I'm glad you're here!
Houdi continues to do alright. He's not himself, but he eats and he drinks. He is a bit more reclusive than usual, but he's stopped...
