Shorty

Incredibly helpful neighborhood raccoon faithfully shows up at o'dark-thirty to feed cats.

Today we worked on tiling the bathroom. The green is water proofing on the cement board. The gray is the color of the bathroom. We are about 1/2 way done with the job. Tim is upset that it is not perfect. We will finish the tiling tomorrow, grout it. Then on to the next project.

I meant to take pictures of my happy pepper and tomato plants for Dave. They are not in the ground yet. We don't plant our gardens until the end of May. Tomorrow, I will try to remember to do get pictures of my plants though.

  3. I am hoping my tomato plants have survived being stuck in our guest shower during our absence. They may be sulking by the time we get home.

  4. There's plenty of time to plant your garden Debby.

  5. Plants it a time in the season not a date, this year due to the hot spring, we have already started sowing, with fingers crossed.

  6. We "got out ahead of it" one warm spring year, and planted before Mother's day. Everything we planted was killed by a rogue frost. We also wait to "open" our deck until then, as we are surrounded by farm fields, and wait until the spring planting is done for them. Otherwise all the dirt we clean off will be right back from the tilling of the fields. We have learned our lessons, the hard way. Love the tile in the bathroom!

  7. Tim is a perfectionist and sees 'mistakes' which others don't notice.
    It's all looking so good.

  8. We have a resident coon and I just heard it has three babies. Oh no. We also have a skunk who shows up often and my neighbours told me they saw two possums in my yard last week. I live in the middle of Toronto, not the countryside. I hope the racoon hasn’t killed your missing kittens. Your tiles look really nice as does the grey paint. Take it easy Debby, only a couple of weeks left to rest up.. Gigi

  9. Your climate zone is pretty similar to ours here on the north side of the lakes.

  10. Canadians are so angry at orange turd that if they find a made in USA product on the shelf they turn it upside down to show next person so they don’t have to read labels. It won’t get better until the idiot drops all the tariffs and maybe not even then. He has permanently ruined a great friendship between nations. We are now finding many more made in Canada products so he has done us a favour, plus we avoided a trumplike Prime Minister and got ourselves a very smart one, Mark Carney. 11. The bathroom is looking good, once all the stuff is cleared away. I read today that it is not the arrival at one's destination but that the journey is the important thing..............................

  12. Once again- Glen is the same way. Anything less than perfection drives him crazy when it comes to his work.
The tile looks great. This is really happening, Debby!

  13. That's so wonderful that you have such a helpful neighborhood racoon to feed the cats:)
We don't usually plant until the May long weekend, the 19th this year, but I always push it because sometimes the last frost is at the beginning of May.
And that meme, I stole it, it's me!

  16. I like the tile in the bathroom a lot. In Spokane the rule is no plant until after Mother's day. All we have is two empty pots, which may or may not have something put in them.

  17. Noone needs a helpful raccoon--lol!
I hope you got the tile done. It is looking so good! :)

  18. Tell Tim that larger tile is easier to keep clean…there’s less grouting to collect grud, therefore more practical! Might that help persuade him that a hammer is not needed? :)
