When I went to Scotland, there were many people whose accents I couldn't understand. I needed subtitles. :) Their language is so different!

When I worked in Scotland, there were also Americans there. They couldn't distinguish my Yorkshire accent from a Scottish one.
My daughter had particular difficulty with Geordie accents, much to her husband delight.
