Videos are all over Facebook. An ice agent kicking over things at the Renee Good memorial. An ice agent walking down a line and macing people in the face. Clergy tear gassed. Nothing more than a blatant display of power.
They want to show who is boss.
MAGA is okay with this.

ReplyDeleteI saw that. What I found very interesting is that after the shooting: ICE rendered no aid. The Portland police did and called for medical assistance. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

DeleteMy boyfriend and I were dumbfounded to see ICE recruitment ads on television! I keep saying that I can't believe what's happening, yet it keeps getting worse. There's not enough outrage from the GOP and the MAGAs are already brainwashed so I write them off. Will we even get to vote in midterms? Is this chaos a deliberate and orchestrated prelude to declaring martial law and calling off elections? It wouldn't surprise me at all.

Someone needs to write a battle song for the UK. Starter still considers Trump a reliable ally. I am not sure that the word reliable can (or should be) used in the same sentence.

I believe that the singer-songwriter is called Jesse Welles. He did a damned good job of that song and the clever poetry is matched only by the underlying and very justifiable bitterness. Isn't it time for another huge mass march on Washington singing, "We Shall Overcome"?
