So did the newspapers.
Nationwide, they are saying seven million people mobilized so far, making it the largest protest in the nation's history.
We are pleased to have been a part of it.
Can you pick Tim and I out?
No Faux King Way.....can pick you out....
ReplyDeleteLol. It is the sign I carried for the first no king day.
DeleteGreat showing! Thanks for the coverage.
ReplyDeleteWhat was it like in your neck of the woods?
DeleteAwesome! Wonderful pics Deb, good for you and Tim! π
ReplyDeleteNot my pictures. Shamelessly stolen from Facebook. I was surprised to see Tim and I too.
DeleteNice! Are you the one holding the No Faux King Way? If so that would be Tim next to you.
ReplyDeleteThat is us.
DeleteNice to see what you look like. It's obvs not such a big thing here in UK, but I hope that all the protesting has a positive effect.
DeleteIt is the world's fondest hope, I think. He and his ilk are doing an awful lot of damage.
DeleteLove your sign!!! I am feeling more encouraged day by day. So grateful.
ReplyDeleteLove your sign! We are feeling more encouraged every day.
ReplyDeleteNot sure what happened as the first one didn't show up so I tried again. Anyway- well done!!!!!!
DeleteI have really been struggling with commenting myself. Usually my comment doesn't take.
DeleteGreat showing! My boyfriend and I went to a park in Tacoma, WA. The weather was supposed to be rainy, yet it was a huge crowd. I was surprised by how many young people and men were there. Somehow I wasn't expecting that. It was comforting!
ReplyDeleteIt sure was. The reaction from the cars going by was awfully encouraging.
DeleteLove your sign! That was a huge turnout today. The orange one must be so proud.
ReplyDeleteHe loves to talk about the crowd sizes.
DeleteYou get the sign award today Debbie! So appropriate! I am encouraged. Especially watching the MAGATS losing their s**t over it, & I'm here for it!!
ReplyDeleteThere was a motorcycle rider glaring around at everyone. Failed to notice the Cadillac in front of him stopped when the light changed. He almost went onto her trunk. I thought to myself, 'wow! 'Carma'!
DeleteWould have been perfect! "Debby", sorry about the misspell. :)
DeletePfft. Who cares. You two be safe on the road.
Deletecongratulations for getting out there and demonstrating.
ReplyDeleteIt was such fun, Red. Turns out that we are not nearly as terrifying as MAGA would have us believe!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good turnout, good to hear of the support.
ReplyDeleteI think that, more than anything, did my heart good. initially, months back, the protests got most silence or insults from passing traffic. Things have changed a great deal.
DeleteI love the witty signs and it is nice to see what you both look like.
ReplyDeleteThat is us.
DeleteHow lovely to see a photo of you both. (You are not how I pictured you in my mind). Isn't it funny how we conjure up images of people just from their words.
ReplyDeleteOh dear. I am afraid to ask questions!
DeleteNice to finally meet you, what a wonderful show of decent people who love their country and want to stop all the orange ones stupidity, as he bullies those who dare to speak and vindictively go after those who he can't silence. He is trying to be a dictator, I won't say a King as that would insult the royal families around the world who care for the countries.
ReplyDeleteHe is a pretty vile human being. The thing that I will never quite understand is how so many people simply don't see what he is doing. He is not hiding any of it. Nothing. The master of quid pro quo. When he is gone (and he will be), this country will be quite a different place.
DeleteGood for you.
ReplyDeleteIt was good for us. It was good for all of us.
DeleteI'm glad it went off safely and was well supported.
ReplyDeleteA guy next to us was worried about guns. I wasn't. MAGA is mostly mouth. There are exceptions to the rule, but most of them are just loud and obnoxious.
DeleteWell done, pleased there was so much support.
ReplyDeleteAnd that support was nationwide.
DeleteIt was a wonderful thing to be a part of. Sending you lots of virtual hugs.
ReplyDeleteRight back to you. It was like a giant street party, wasn't it? We had such fun.
DeleteLove the signs and I'm glad it turned out well.
ReplyDeleteIt did go well. I am glad it did.
DeleteIt was the same here in Columbia, TN---500 turned out and many participating by honking as they drove by. It was great to stand on the street corner with like-minded people and protest. Thanks to all across the US who supported this event. And thanks Debby for speaking your truth. Phillis in Middle, TN
ReplyDeleteI am glad you found an event. What is encouraging to me is the turn out in what had been considered 'red'. The tide is turning.
DeleteIn our local county seat, there were estimated to be about 2-3000 - a very great turnout for our red county. I really wanted to be a part of that but knew I was not physically up to it. However, I will see one of our book club members today who marches every chance she gets and will live it vicariously through her. Good for you for being there and now Ican place a face with a name. Funny - I already knew what Hubby looked like - had him pictured in my mind like that all along. I can only support the cause through checks to ACLU, and the Democratic Party so will do what I can that way.
ReplyDeleteWe all do what we can, Ana, and no one's support is unimportant. I remember last no king day...there was a car with a very elderly lady in the back seat. They circled the block multiple times with her laughing and fistbumping out the window. We all saw it. We all loved it.
DeleteI agree that it was great fun. We had so much support from cars cruising by - no one giving us the finger or flying MAGA flags like my first No Kings protest. Just all positive vibes. Large crowds in several of the Chicagoland suburbs as well as the downtown city too.
ReplyDeleteI saw pictures! What an awesome turn out. Mayor Pritzer right there in it, too. After this is done, there will be names that are written in history. His will be one of them.
DeleteIt seems the No Kings protest was one of the largest in American history. Well done to all the people that took to the streets.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great day, Thelma, and we were very proud to be part of it.
DeleteYes, I picked you out. From what I saw on TV, all the protests were peaceful, no military or ICE were shown. It was a huge success. And donald mouse scurried off to Florida to hide, big chicken that he is. I wonder how he will try to spin it. They even had protests here in Toronto. He is a disgrace to all his people. I think perverts like him need to be locked up for life. Gigi
ReplyDeleteHe actually didn't scurry off. He went there like he always does. His response was to post an AI generated video of himself wearing a crown, flying a fighter plane, poop bombing protestors. This is the sitting president of the United States.
DeleteHurray for you and Tim and for all of the protestors everywhere! I truly wonder how Trump spins all of this in his head.
ReplyDeleteI honestly do not believe he spins it at all. He simply surrounds himself with people who tell him what he wants to hear. If someone says something he doesn't want to hear, he goes after them.
DeleteI think he tells himself everyone there was paid by George Soros. How much money did Soros send you, Debby? :)
DeleteOur small city had about 400 people show up, which for us is huge! Lots of veterans, too, which made me happy. It's so encouraging to know we're all in this together and together we're going to get through it. ❤️πΊπ²πΊπ²
ReplyDeleteThere was a real feeling of solidarity, wasn't there?
DeleteYep. I spotted you right away!
ReplyDeleteI figured you would! You have been with me for a lot of years!
DeleteSo glad you went! It's great that so many people turned out, and great to see a photo of you two as well!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, it was the biggest turnout we ever had.
