Successful Day.

Today was a ticking boxes sort of day.

Yoga (tick).

Remembered to pick up two jalapeños (tick)

Made salsa (tick)

Obligatory sampling of salsa - so very excellent (tick)

Finished siding

Siding finished. (Tick!)

Managed to capture both ferals for their neuters tomorrow. (Tick!!! Only two more to do!)

We have a long list of errands to keep us busy while we are in town tomorrow waiting for the cats to be ready to come back home. It will be a long day, but at the end of it, we are going see 'Kansas' tomorrow night in Erie.

For Dave. Thinking of you and your family.

Talking about ticked: how about Trump's speech? Greeted by silence as he took the stage, he told 800 military leaders that they could applaud if they liked what he had to say. He also told them they could also leave the room if they didn't, but that it would cost them their rank and their future.

Whoo boy.

TaskerI will have to get your truck picture another day. One box unticked.

  1. WOWZA - your house looks fabulous!!! Do you just want to sit in the yard and admire it? It really does look so nice. You guys worked so hard and it is beautiful!
Salsa. Now my neighbor is working on hers. I opened one of my jars last night already, lol.

  2. I can't get over all you're doing with your house. Wow!
And that trump speech. I didn't know. What a jerk type thing to say.

  3. I just looked it up online about trump's speech to the generals. OMG! It's frightening. Art was in the Air Force for many years and he's absolutely flabbergasted.

  4. I have a recurring thought. I am foreseeing a coup. I somehow believe the military leaders are going save us. Yes, it will be ugly - it may even be bloody. But I think once the revolution starts, the people in our high places will cave in, if they see trump taken down. I don't think the republicans in our government halls have the balls to hang on to a sinking ship and will cave. If they had a backbone they would have spoken up before now.

    1. I can't even bring myself to guess what happens next, Ana. I can only focus on what is happening now. Our military leaders stood steadfast.

    1. Jaycee, I have a little pile of books that I am collecting, one at a time. The seasons are changing. Winter will come. My books sit waiting, a promise to myself.

    Trump's speech leaves me speechless.

    1. You were not the only one. New York Times had a piece. The general consensus of the people there is that their is something wrong with the Commender in chief.

  7. The comment by Vance about fat generals rather got me.
Great that you've finished the siding. My apologies if I've forgotten, but is your new well insulated? And what is your heating?

    1. Andrew, our new house is extremely well insulated. It would be foolish to build otherwise. It has the regular insulation between the studs and a second layer of foam insulation between the siding and the zip board. we have a producing gas well on our property, so we heat with gas, cook with gas. And heat our water with gas because it is free to do so.

  8. I watched that lie filled speech by the horses ass and was amazed by all the rambling, really showing just how nuts he is. The military guy, not Vance was really scary. I bet none of the Generals agreed with the bullshit and were wondering just why they were sitting there. Putting them all in one spot seems like a foolish thing to do. About right for the dumbest person to ever run the USA. Your house is looking so nice now that you have finished the siding, and well done catching two more cats for fixing. Have a nice day in town. 1. You know, Jenny, I am very much looking forward to winter. I am not a winter person but we have no huge projects to keep working at. I have never been able to simply putter, and I am quietly excited at the prospect.

  11. The house looks wonderful! Ticking boxes is also quite wonderful.
Shows you how out of touch I am with the music world...I thought you were going to see a play called Kansas--ROFL! They do sound pretty good. :)

  12. A very dear friend of mine who died many years ago was friends with one of the wives of one of the guys in Kansas. I do not remember which one. Sorry about that tortured sentence.
Your house is about to be DONE! Can you believe it?

    2. It was lunacy, a two loon show. We are not exactly done with the house. We are going to put a sun room/conservatory on yhe outside of those sliding doors. We also have to build permanent steps inside.

  14. Your house looks great! Hope you enjoy the concert. I had to look up what other songs Kansas sang and there are a lot that I remember. The 2 speeches yesterday were insulting and I admired that the military just watched with serious faces - not responding.

    1. That is referred to as military bearing. I kind of think that the goal was to guage responses, to figure who they needed to move out of the way to achieve their goals. I think they still don't know. I was proud of them.

    1. The military is supposed to be nonpartisan, so I would have been very disappointed to see the brass behaving like MAGA.

  18. Your house looks fantastic! I'm so glad you caught two of the ferals. My sister keeps trying to catch a male they feed ( to get neutered), but he's too wiley and escapes. I wonder what direction this country will go over the next three years. Coup? If the felon gets any crazier, maybe. But mostly I think we'll just keep going like this. Oh well, nothing I can do but ride it out. Or leave.

    1. I have spent a lot of time on these cats since we moved here full time. I can pet them all and they come when I call. I am starting to try picking them up which they are not quite so thrilled with. So...I guess at this point, they are half feral, half tamed.

  19. That disaster at Quantico was one of the worst things I have ever witnessed. Two of the most unqualified people on the planet lecturing a room full of the most senior officers and enlisted leaders on grooming standards, fake macho "warrior ethos" and "sir stories" was just so insulting it defies description. Congrats on all the "ticks!"

  20. I read the transcript of Hegseth's speech. It was so wildly nonsensical, filled with lies and dogwhistles. I could not even bring myself to read trump's ramblings.

  21. The Draft Dodger in Chief and his Lackey are a disgrace and neither is fit to address our Military who actually Serve our Country and protect it. This Administration are like a Cancer to our Nation. Hegseth was only in the National Guard and got ousted for being a Security Threat due to potential associations with Extremist Groups. And Donnie Two Dolls had his Rich Daddy buy some Doctor to fake Bad Feet so he could get a cowardly deferment and not have to go to Vietnam.

  22. The siding looks great, and i know it has to be a relief to have it done. About that speech, grrrr! I didnt think I could possibly hate this administration more, but apparently I can. Thinking of emigrating to somewhere, anywhere, away from this mess.
