There are no stars tonight

How does he sleep ar night?

It took everything I had to do my 3 miles at the gym, even with the coffee. I dragged myself there and dragged myself home. I realized this afternoon that I am coming down with something. I did not get much of anything accomplished this afternoon.

Girls who were not pregnant when they were shipped to detention centers are ending up pregnant when they leave.

In the midst of all the horrible things, this arrived:

Flat Stanley! He arrived in an envelope and needs to have an adventure and returned to his elementary school with pictures and a story. This will be great fun.

I can't sleep.

There are no stars tonight.

  1. Everything is unbelievable. You keep on thinking What Next?
Perhaps Flat Stanley could visit Levi and Mattie?

  2. I wake up every morning wondering what has happened overnight and wondering what will happen to day and it shouldn't be like that.

  5. I feel the people of this earth are collectively hoping this madness will all end, 3 more years of the orange one, Putin to pull back from Ukraine, the middle east to find peace. I've said it before rich and greedy men in power is not good for our world. We are all depressed.......

    1. I keep telling myself that these old farts have to die at some point. If 'only the good die young', these men are are certainly the worst of the worst.

    2. The problem is, Debby, they're like terrorists. When they die there will be more standing behind them. (Though Trump is a special kind of hell.)

    3. Whatever it is that has MAGA mesmerized, republican legislators walking around in shoes that don't fit, I honestly don't think anyone else has it. I read that the US Treasury reported last week that our country has 6.06 Trillion in assets, but over 47 trillion in liabilities. The US is insolvent, and it was noted that there was very little press coverage of that. This is unsustainable. Things are about to get very real here. I don't think that MAGA will hold together.

    1. Well, the good news is that now they will be working in airports. Someone complained 'they are not trained for airport security'. It is true, but they aren't even trained for the work they do now, so there is that.

  10. I'm reminding everyone that there will be No Kings protests all over this coming Saturday, 3/28. Hope everyone signs up online and joins the marches. "Hey hey, Ho ho, Donald Trump has got to go!"

  12. That poem is so poignant (and as sad as current events). I doubt that Trump ever gave a second thought to people who might need electricity to survive, or to the fact that Cuban hospitals may not have a handy generator.

  13. No surprise there, he's a narcissistic sociopath, he cares only for himself, other people mean absolutely nothing to him. A definition: "A narcissistic sociopath is an informal term for someone exhibiting traits of both Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) and Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD), characterized by extreme grandiosity, a lack of empathy, and manipulative, dangerous behavior. They seek power, control, and admiration while disregarding others' rights without remorse, often using gaslighting and love bombing to manipulate." Fits him perfectly, he's a monster.

    1. I agree. I get so tired of all these posts claiming 'Trump humiliated'...the thing is I don't think that is possible. He is so delusional at this point that he can't be humilated.

  15. It's been awhile!
I'ts been like being trapped in a horror movie that keeps getting worse, and worse, and worse. We moved to a very conservative state a few months back too. The people who were enthusiastically crowing about how thgeir candidate won are now very grim, defensive and angry about the whole subject. Heaven forfend they be wrong. Oh no. Much better to slink around fully armed and constantly pissed. The punchline here in Idaho is, those hardline, blue-collar Trumpers are the same people who got hit the hardest when the tariffs and the raids came down.

    1. You know Steve, our local news had a piece about us claiming talks between the US and Iran were very productive. Iran said there had been no discussions between the two countries at all. Of the 65 comments, only one of them was MAGA. That is huge for this place. I have said from the beginning that the cult will not fall until his ridiculousness begins to affect them negatively. I think it is happening.

  16. I live right at the bottom of the world, in Tasmania, the little island state South of the Australian mainland. I should feel safe here, I live over 70km from the closest town and am surrounded by bush and native animals, but I don't feel safe. I fear for my baby grandson.
That is down to your President.
Can I at least assure you that he is regarded with disgust here. The impact he is having on our lives is disproportionate. You (the US) are no longer regarded as a trusted ally. Our fuel prices are ridiculous: diesel is almost $3 a litre, and many fuel stations are running out of fuel. Food prices are rocketing.
It is beyond sad. You should, after the UK, be our closest ally.
Do Americans even know that we have a free trade agreement with you, which means we have zero tariffs on your imports? Even your trade war is irrational.
    Rant over.

    1. The trade deficit bs was irrational from its conception. where in the hell did he get the idea we should force other countries to buy our exports? It is crazy. I am sorry for the wickedness we have unleashed on this world.

  18. Oooooo! A Flat Stanley! Maybe place him amongst your garden and flowers! Or visiting the bird feeder / camera!
(Yes, the smart folks in the U.S.are living in horror with the Jerk. But the Republicans keep covering for him and justifying him. I hope the Democrats can win all of the fall elections.) Linda in Kansas

  19. Flat Stanley is one of my most favorite people!
I am always sickened. I want to stand on my roof and scream all day and night. I don't understand it. I don't understand the tolerance for all this murderous hatred. I don't understand what the end game is. I am just sick. Just sick.

  20. I've been really having trouble coming to grips with the madness happening in our country right now. There's too much happening and then so much we're dealing with friends and family here too. Too much worry...
But you made me smile with Flat Stanley. We brought him on one of our trips to Europe and took photos of him everywhere for our granddaughter to take to school.
