Books. DVDs. Puzzles. Stocking staffers. Just anything you could imagine. What was truly amazing was that probably 20% of this stuff was brand new. There are things for boys and girls of all ages.
There was a wonderful video, but I don't know own how to post in from facebook. It shows those amazing dolls and stuffed animals.
Our community did itself proud. So proud.

ReplyDeleteHow wonderful... congratulations to everyone from those who set it up to those who donated and those who received!!
ReplyDeleteGosh well done. There are children who expected nothing for Christmas but will now be so happy.
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful. There are good people everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI am so pleased to read this. You dun well girlfriend.
ReplyDeleteWow, just from your idea, so many happy children this year, not forgetting the joy of each parent to be able to give gifts at Christmas. Well done the true meaning of Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHow did it work for the people taking things? Could they just grab lots of everything? Did it all go? What a wonderful thing you organised. I can spot several of the Fisher Price toys that my kids had. I can't remember what came of them....we kept a lot of smaller stuff for grandkids.....(and will have to keep all that as there is another on the way)
ReplyDeleteThe giveaway is today, Frances. We open the doors at 8. Families sign up as they enter and are given 5 tickets per child. They can walk around and 'shop' for their children, paying with those tickets on the way out, where we will add a bag of stocking stuffers, coloring books and crayons, a slap bracelet and a candy cane for each child to their bags. There are also ribbons and gift wrap to take.
DeleteOMG Debby, from an idea in your head to this! This is what true Christmas spirit is all about. So happy for the children and their parents. You and your community have started something, Debby, and this can become a regular thing for Christmas, or for any other need that arises.
