A mess tonight.

Today.

Yet another snow event.it seems like no where is escaping it.

When I stopped at the Mennonite store on my way homeand was pleased at their cheese collection. I picked up over 7 pounds of cheese, different varieties, enough to last us for the winter. Foreign cheese as well. One caught my eye.

I took a moment to remember Weaver. I miss her 'voice' in blogland telling the stories of her days.

Does gz have superpowers? Seems like it sometimes. She is everywhere. She does everything.

I am kind of a mess tonight. Tomorrow is donation day for the toy giveaway. I am excited and nervous all mixed together. It seems positive, but tomorrow we will know for sure.

The snow is not making me feel better. I just want things to go well.

  1. That’s a lot of snow! Can just imagine how cold it is. It is a very positive event, and everything will work out just fine. You’re doing a wonderful thing, mobilizing your community to come together and do so much good. I was very poor growing up, and as a child was the recipient of gifts and food for needy kids during Christmas. It warmed my heart and soul back then, knowing people cared. The children who receive these toys will be so happy, and like myself, will remember this kindness all their lives. Cali

    1. Well now, that made me tear up, the idea that children might remember those gifts all their lives.

  2. Sending you all the best wishes! I’m sure it will be beautiful. I hope the snow calms down!! We have snow on the ground and it’s cold here. Xo, Rigmor (and the previous comment was so lovely!🥰)

  3. Southern Idaho is (alas!) escaping the snow. Send some this way, please.

Tomorrow, magic will start to happen, and Saturday the magic feeling will go home with kids and their families. As with any event, there will be a few glitches, and it will be nonetheless wonderful.

  5. I am in central Florida, and it will be in the low 40's tonight which isn't bad, but a lot of people do not have heat in their houses or warm clothes. We have a lot of homeless families living in cars, the shelters are open, warm and warm food. I am thankful for that but not everyone will make it to a shelter. Most schools have warm clothes to help kids have a coat or sweater and warm food.

  9. Snow is something I like to look at from inside my house these days, but not go out and have to go places in! I hope that the toy donation goes well, and WELL DONE for all your inspiration and work.

Does that Wensleydale cheese REALLY have chocolate in it?! Bad enough having the Amaretto too - Keith used to like it with Cranberries.

  10. SO exciting for your toy drive. With that kind of whiteout snow, you might need to hold it for a few days. Be careful! Linda in Kansas

  11. Your first two photos are rather blurry, showing little detail. Maybe clean your lens.
Good luck for tomorrow, and nothing that you've imagined going wrong in your head, will happen.
