Steve Reed commented yesterday that the No King participants are supposedly paid by George Soros, according to the GOP and MAGA.
Now this is the same spiel provided by the acquaintance who flatly stated that no Christian should participate in No King rallies because the were nothing but a device to divide Americans. (Um...hello? This is pot calling kettle...) Anyways, when I pointed out that many religious leaders felt it was their faith that called them to be there, her response was about the undercurrents of evil behind these sort of things and spoke at great length about George Soros.
I felt sad about it but i blocked her. Once someone falls down that conspiracy rabbit hole, there is no reasoning with them.
Anyways, so I put it out to you all: who got paid yesterday? Anybody?
Nothing much to report, but I did want to say that I did try my scalloped potatoes today, my dehydrated potato slices and my 'instant' sauce mix. Interesting enough, the recipe for the sauce was good. However the amount of liquid that she added to the dehydrated potato slices was just not enough. The thing is, I knew it. I questioned it, but made the decision to go with the instructions as provided. I shouldn't have. I did go back and actually doubled the amount of liquid, added more sauce mix. The potatoes did soften up. The verdict was the flavor is perfect, and probably if they had baked an extra 20 minutes, it would have been perfect.
So...I guess that product is fine. I just need to do some math, figure out the proper liquid to potato ratio.

No one (including my boyfriend and me) got paid. The lies are more and more ridiculous yet somehow believed by people. It makes me want to tear out my hair!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it crazy?
DeleteMagas believe and say the darndest things.
ReplyDeleteYou know, AC, I am not convinced that some of them DO believe it. They just use it as a verbal weapon in their arsenal.
DeleteWatching MAGA lose their minds over the No Kings events has been a clear view into their mindset. Thinking that George Soros would pay 7M people to attend is beyond laughable. Did any of them ever consider the logistics of paying those people? This is just weapons grade stupid. BTW, you asked how far our drive is from Spokane to Tucson, 1,511 miles driveway to driveway.
ReplyDeleteEeep. That is a lonnnnnng haul.
DeleteI do love a good Captain PIcard meme. I am taking comfort in this: The 3.5% rule is a political science concept proposing that a nonviolent movement with the active participation of at least 3.5% of the population has never failed to bring about change. The "rule" was formulated by Harvard professor Erica Chenoweth, based on her 2011 book Why Civil Resistance Works, co-authored with Maria J. Stephan
ReplyDeleteYou know, I heard about that some time back but forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder!
DeleteSomeone would have had to pay me NOT to attend the protest! Linda in Nashville
ReplyDeleteBahahahaha!!!! That is great!
DeleteLOL -- love it!
DeleteSome people really will believe anything.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I wonder if some of them do believe it, or whether they are just parroting what they hear with no thought.
DeleteThe Man Who Broke The Bank Of England is paying you? - aha, so that's why you are all so rich now!! 😄
ReplyDeleteWe are rolling in it, sistah!
DeleteNowt6 so queer as folk, as they say.
ReplyDelete*Nowt* not *Nowt6*
ReplyDeleteI knew exactly what you meant. Here, we say, 'it takes all kinds of kinds'.
DeleteUtterly pathetic, those MAGAS! Gigi
ReplyDeleteThey are so fervent in their opinions.
DeleteSeriously. How extremely ironic coming from the same group whose leader just threw a million dollars a plate candlelight dinner at his golf club and resort in Palm Beach. Keynote speaker was none other than The Orange One himself.
ReplyDeleteSo many ironies, even more ironic when you consider that the source of virtually all of it is wrinkled old white men, irony being the opposite of wrinkly...
DeleteIt lifted my spirits to be there and I will keep showing up to protest.
ReplyDeleteIt did for us as well.
DeleteI suspect we are eventually heading for censorship.
ReplyDeleteI think that is where the powers that be are steering the car, but very suddenly, there are a lot of people grabbing for the wheel.
DeleteSome people are completely irrational about the situation. I had a neighbor who was off in foo foo land. I finally had to stop talking to him.
ReplyDelete'Foo Foo land! That is great. I know that my online acquaintance is probably mocking me for simply blocking her, but honestly, once people start with these conspiracy theories, there is just no way to have a rational conversation.
DeleteGot paid? How ridiculous! If those suggesting that would just stop and think of the logistics to do that they'd realize how crazy that is.
ReplyDeleteWe had two MAGAs at our rally waving a tRump 2024 flag and the other a Kirk flag. They spoke to each other but not much to anyone else that I saw. The first one came and stood next to me so we decided to cross the street. I suggested he cross over but he said he had the right to protest and I agreed he did. I just didn't want to be next to him.
We had two instigators. People ignored them. At one point, people began to chant USA! USA! USA! drowning them out. I thought that was a good way to handle it. I also have begun to respond to online MAGA who attack and insult by simply saying, 'there, there! You are right. No King Day was ridiculous. Shut your little eyes and go back to sleep.' People need to just stop engaging with them.
DeleteWe didn’t get paid to demonstrate last Saturday in Michigan. BTW, I don’t hate him, but I do think he dangerous for our country and so many more.
ReplyDeleteI really had to examine my opinions on this, and have come to the conclusion that I do hate him and his administration. They are very malicious and destructive power mongers. I am sure that I should feel ashamed to say it out loud, but as time goes on, I also have to admit that I am not ashamed.
DeleteI just want to make clear to your readers, in case it wasn't, that I DO NOT BELIEVE that anyone got paid. I was just repeating the MAGA talking points, which are ludicrous. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, dear! I thought I made that very clear. I hope I didn't embarrass you.
DeleteAll I can say is my Soros check is years overdue!
ReplyDeleteHa! I did say that I am owed back pay!
