Today, I had to go into town early to have blood work done. We had company coming for supper, so I wanted to pick up makings for a tossed salad, but I had some time to kill before the grocery store opened, so I went to the Tractor Supply to see what they had left in their garden shop. Everything was 75% and I was not going to buy anything. Just look.
As you do.
Except there was this bumble bee clinging to this plant in the morning chill.
Isn't that just so cute?
I bought the plant for purely humanitarian reasons, and the little bee was quite happy to travel home in a warm car with me.
I know it is ridiculous, but that tiny good deed made me very happy and that happy lasted all day.
I've heard of bees just hanging on the outside when their done with their life's duties. Glad he didn't buzz around while you were driving. Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteHe didn't. I left the car windows down while I picked up my Saad things. He was gone when I came back.
DeleteOh well done. He will be a little confused by his new surroundings perhaps, but he is still alive :)
ReplyDeleteThe grocery store was across the highway from the Tractor Supply. Maybe he returned home....
DeleteI am amazed that he didn't fly away on the journey. I wonder if he is cold and in need of some sugar water?
ReplyDeleteThat was my thought, that he was cold. He began crawling one he was brought into the car.
DeleteKind gestures like that make the day a good one.
ReplyDeleteNow I am second guessing my kindness.
DeleteI hope the bee finds a good home to make to his journey's end.
ReplyDeleteYeah. I hope so too.
DeleteSo cool, a bee rescue! complete with habitat.
ReplyDeleteHope I didn't sign his death warrant.
DeleteI also found sleeping bees on a cool morning this fall. If and when your bee awakes, she will no doubt miss her hive.
ReplyDeleteAw Gees, AC! Now I just feel ignorant!
DeleteAww, what a lovely thing to do. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt was my intention.
DeleteYou are the Bee Rescuer! and the Cat Rescuer!
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping for a happy ending for our country!
I love that you cared for this bee. It's fun to read about your kind hearted daily adventures.
ReplyDeleteYour story makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteIf the bee flew out of your car just across the street from where you picked her up, I'm sure she can get back to her hive. Don't worry about that. (Actually, I'm not sure bumblebees live in hives. I think they're solitary and winter in holes in walls or in the ground. She will find her hole!)
