Today, Tim wanted to work on his shed for all his things that must be kept forever and ever until he dies and the kids throw it out. It is interesting to note that he's found quite a bit of stuff that belongs to me that we need to be getting rid of, because we are downsizing and we can't take it all.
Just a thing that I noticed.
I stayed home. I've been pretty slack on household duties since the knee surgery, and so I wanted some time to catch up. I got laundry done and vacuumed and dusted. I do know that I still have one area of difficulty to work on: going up and down stairs. About the sixth trip to the basement, my knee was feeling it.

Happy weekend my friend
ReplyDeleteI admire your honesty about downsizing and post-surgery recovery especially the knee struggles with stairs. The mention of the protest and sign ideas adds a thoughtful, civic-minded touch. “Rejecting kings since 1776” is clever!
How about “Liberty Doesn’t Wear a Crown”?
I like that!
Delete« Protect the Constitution » isn’t clever or original, but it is important…
ReplyDeleteA pretty big deal.
DeleteHow about a picture of King Charles the Second and a slogan saying if we wanted a King we would still be British? Or something similar? All the best with your protests and problems. From an American loving Brit.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny. I don't know that people would recognize the picture, but a crown emblazoned with that would be hilarious.
DeleteThe Man Who Would Be King. I seem to remember that didn't end well for him ...

I've never seen that movie, but I can see this situation ending badly for him. And us.
DeleteKings have to come through ancestry, and most royalty round the world are given secondary roles, would the orange one accept that;)
ReplyDeleteI wrote a comment and closed your site before it was published. It was a good comment, but I just can't do it again.
ReplyDeleteIt's okay, Andrew. I'll have great fun putting words in your mouth! ;)
DeleteThe 'No matter how you feel' should be a clarion call to me . . . just one of those days.
ReplyDeleteIt really is easy to get bogged down in a sense of hopelessness. We can't do that. Robert Reich wrote a very good piece about non-violent protest. We all need to take that to heart.
DeleteI'm sure you'll come up with something.
ReplyDeleteYes. I always do.
DeleteYes, stairs are important! Have you got back into free weights for your legs? Really old for future stair climbing. But you're still not long since surgery, so you're doing great.
ReplyDeleteHow about "Don't make me throw tea in the harbor again!". And thank you so much for marching.
Old? I typed good. Dopy corrective text..
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh. Autocorrect will be the death of me. No. I completely forgot leg weights. I was looking square at them at one point, and meant to do that, but...sigh...I was talking to someone and was swept along to another machine and...well...I forgot.
DeleteMy sign will read: "No to Crown, Yes to Impeach!" And possibly "Vote Democrat in '26"
ReplyDeleteYou know, a two sided sign just occurred to me.
DeleteI always wear my "Everyone is welcome here" t shirt when I go to protests now. Glad you can participate and hope we all get a huge turnout! :)
ReplyDeleteI hope we do as well. It always amazes me that Tim has become so outspoken in his opposition. He's been a quiet guy for all his life.
DeleteThe Emperor Has No Clothes
ReplyDeleteOoooh. That might work. There are naked Trump caricatures everywhere.
DeleteCatching up with you this morning, and feeling a bit breathless! You are just amazing, Debby. I am so glad your knee experience was at the opposite end of the spectrum from mine. I guess that's how they figure out what's average!
ReplyDeleteAbout the tomatoes, I never keep track of which are which. Once they start to bear I will know, lol!
That makes me feel better about the tomatoes. I was afraid they would all just cross pollinate and be some freakish hybrid.
DeleteHow about, "Even a king would be better than this"? (Which works coming from me, since I now live in a country with a king.)
ReplyDeleteWe need to do some downsizing around here too. Funny how your stuff wound up in that shed! :)
No no, Steve. HIS stuff will go in the shed. My stuff needs to GO. just something I have noticed.
DeleteFirst I have to come clean on my tomato plants - I buy what they call "patio pots" at our Mennonite nursery so I started with plants that are 24/36 inches.
ReplyDeleteI just saw Mary Engelbreit is going to have a great colorful poster download. I am between my simple theme of black foam board with large white sticker letters with a simple NO KINGS, easy to read for the passing cars. But I might just go with the ME poster if I can figure out the download and send it to either Walgreens or Staples. The clock is ticking!
I saw that. I think I will just draw it on a sign. No Kings. No Idiots. I love it.
DeleteI am not great with ideas pre my trip over there, however surely something could be worked with you attack sleepy JOe - what about the buffoon who would be KING (making the JO and KING the real stand outs)
ReplyDeleteI don't think people would get it, and in my red part of the world, all it would do is start all the 'but...but...but...Biden' nonsense. Jeanie, I've been thinking about you guys. Where do you fly into when you go visit V's family?
