If I don't laugh...

Gees...sorry about the spam comments on the last post. Miss a few days of blogging and those guys sneak right in there, don't they? I hope no one contacted those pesky faith healers with strange names who can cure breast cancer. We don't need them.

Our president claims:

"We've taken people that were dead. We had a person given the last rites -- gone, the kids are crying and everything -- and started them on this drug. And the person became better. It works."

Of corse this miracle drug is not named and no one has left their death bed to testify to this miracle.

It doesn't matter, people will still flock to the golden idol to pray.

Sorry for going silent. It is a busy time. My daughter is flying home this month. I am planning a small wedding reception for my daughter and her husband. My son and his family will be coming home.

After this is done, we have a trip that will take us up into Canada for a week.

In the midst of this, because Tim cannot and will not wait, we are  clearing out the old house to put on the market.

It is a crazy time, but no matter how crazy it gets, it is crazier in Washington. This is not comforting.

We have had two hard frosts in the last two days. It dropped to 25° two days ago. Will summer ever get (and stay) here.

Posting may be light for the month of May. Ignore the spam. Don't contact any African faith healers. Ask for the revival/Lazarus drugs instead.

  3. I thought that golden idol was some kind of a joke. He really has gone round the bend. I am sure you will get a feeling of refreshment in Canada. Have fun. Gigi

  4. Debby you are too funny--not as funny as that golden idol, but still! You do sound like you have busy times ahead--you should consider setting your blog's settings to not automatically publish after 24 hours, that way these spammers can't go into old blogs and leave their crud (which many do).

    1. It goes in fits. I had 6 today. I remove the comments. This time It was purported to be from two different people but very similar claims of miracle cancer cures. You know. I found no information on that 100 year old sand castle. This is disappointing.

  7. Enjoy your family time!! Congratulations to your daughter and husband! Enjoy the time with your son's family! And a trip to Canada sounds wonderful (please come back). Good luck with the sale of your house - we had two go up for sale on our street and one sold in 4 days, the other in 10 days. That will be one less property for you guys to take care of. Darn those stinking scammers.

  8. I'm glad the busy stuff is about family and parties and trips. That's a good busy. I also will not respond to any Nigerian princes.

  9. I promise not to hire African faith healers and will not engage in any deals with Nigerian princes who promise me millions in exchange for a "small" investment. A wedding reception for your daughter will be lovely, especially since your son and his family will be there. You don't have to worry about me praying to any golden idols. 86 47

  10. Ya know, ya just can't make this shit up, that riff about bringing a dead person back to life was just bizarre, one does wonder what goes on in what's left of his brain. And then there's that horrific statue of himself. Have a wonderful time with your family, we'll all be here when you get back.

  11. I hope you have a wonderful time with family.
My go to is dark humour and when that doesn't work, I cry. But at least I'm consistent:)

  12. Busy you will be! Used to be that folks put their house up for sale at the beginning of summer, so that the next family could move in before fall school starts. Good luck! Linda in Kansas

  13. family stuff and trips...all good! Enjoy yourself
Dealing with the old house? I'm with Tim on that!! But difficult when yo're busy with everything else.
Spam??...that is why I approve comments...and seem to have had less now that I do that.

  14. I had a similar spammer too. Plus the IWANTTODIE. I rather uncharitably thought, well just get on with it then!

A good time of year to sell a house, but sounds like your husband has decided on a whim, rather than a set plan of action and very poor timing on his part.

I hope all the planning goes well and the wedding is wonderful, Canada ditto.

  15. I hadn't heard about this latest madness. I was really disturbed by his explanation of what he means by 'the sea' though. That guy definitely has dementia.
I hope the wedding goes well. Enjoy your break in Canada.

  19. We are in the dark days of the hell of a leader's insanity.
    Never saw this one coming.
Meanwhile- enjoy your life as best you can and love the ones you love with all your heart. I guess that's what we can do.

  20. Spammers can be very sneaky.

  21. I think I've just had the experience of AI-produced spam. It leaves a comment suggesting it's clearly read the post, followed by its business link.

Before I moderated all comments on my blog, the spiteful left-behind-wife of a local man left nasty libelous remarks about him in the comments. I wasn't taking that risk again. Also, there's far less spam once the bots know their leavings won't be approved.

  22. Ooh how exciting - wedding reception, family gathering, Canada calling, house selling - sounds like a very busy time. Enjoy it all!

  23. Have a good time in Canada and with family ahead of that. When we were last there we apologized for our "President", and Canadians didn't hold it against us.

  24. My marbles are rolling away as we speak . . .
Enjoy your family gatherings, and your trip to Canada. We'll be here when you get back.

  25. Well...when you get back on your feet, you should plan a trip! I am sure there are many Canadian readers who would jump at the chance to meet the famous John Gray!

  27. Between a wedding reception, family visiting, a trip to Canada, AND clearing out a house, I’m tired just reading about it. 🤣 Good luck with the 'Lazarus drug' hunt—I think we could all use a bit of that energy right now. Safe travels to your daughter and son, and I hope you finally get some actual spring weather soon!

  28. You make me laugh so hard! And yet it is all annoying and painful too, isn't it. Still, you have good things to look forward to. Ans surely the frost will end soon! Some places not far from us had frost last night! Crazy.

Be good to yourself, my friend. We will look forward to anything you have time post.

  29. Wait, we have a drug that brings dead people back to life? How did I miss THIS news?!

I had those spammers too. They must have been making the rounds. I wonder how they got past the Blogger spam filters, which somehow manage to snag my actual friends while letting through people peddling breast cancer and herpes cures?

You DO have a lot on your plate at the moment. Make some time for yourself too!
