This morning, I got up and went to the gym. Tim did not go today. He is siding the garage. He had an appointment at 1 to get new tires on the car for my trip to see the kids and my granddaughters.
So off I went to class. I got there early enough to do my mile before class started. I did my class and came home.
I have been on mighty productive streak lately. I got a pan out and sautéed green, red and yellow peppers along with some red (purple!) onion. I added some venison. Tossed in garlic and Adobe paste, some jalapeño tomato sauce. I cleaned as I went. When the rice cooker beeped, I added the rice. It sure made a pretty dish.
Tim walked in as I put the finishing touches on things. I said, "Want me to make corn bread to go with the rice tonight?"
He looked at me in amazement. "We are going out for supper. We are taking William out for his birthday."
I am so productive, I already have supper made for tomorrow.

That's funny! So productive you're ahead of yourself.
ReplyDeleteNothing better than a day ahead on cooking! Sounds delicious.
ReplyDeleteNo doubt the flavour will become richer overnight.
ReplyDeleteI feel a bit like the guy in the meme.
You did a mile then the class??? WOW!
ReplyDeleteYou've just reminded me I have venison steaks in the freezer. I bought them thinking they were on special offer, but read the price from the next item along and they weren't! I hope you had a lovely meal out for William's birthday.
ReplyDeleteWhat a chuckle. Come do some chores at my house. Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteForward planning is a life skill...
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to William! Have a wonderful time together🥰Xo, Rigmor
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary of being William's grandma
ReplyDeleteSome of us haven’t made yesterday’s dinner yet, nevermind tomorrow’s.

ReplyDeleteglad you are always ahead of yourself. Happy Birthday to William.
It takes effort to make good food.
ReplyDeleteThat beautiful dish will only benefit from sitting for a day.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that I am NOT a functional adult every day. Far from it.
Happy birthday to dear William!
How nice to have tomorrow's dinner ready! Happy Birthday to William!
ReplyDeleteTomorrow you have dinner. You are rich. We say we're rich when we have left overs because we're not keen on cooking. Happy Day to William.
ReplyDeleteMy mouth is watering! Your dinner sounded just like what my grandma used to cook :^)
ReplyDeleteWell, that sounds pretty yummy! (And colorful!) At least it's a dish that you can save (and not a soufflé or something else you have to eat right away).
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not the only one who gets unstuck in time every once in a while. :)
ReplyDeleteHow old is William now? And happy birthday to him!
ReplyDeleteAww! At least you had a meal in hand.
ReplyDeleteThat's so funny! But nice to have it all ready. It sounds delicious, and colorful.
ReplyDeleteKay of Musings: Oh wow! We really need you over here. We’re always wondering what we should have for dinner.
ReplyDeleteProductive streak so strong you cook a whole meal, plan cornbread, and still end up going out for William’s birthday. The ‘I already have supper for tomorrow’ line is the real win.
ReplyDeleteWhere are you, Debby?
ReplyDeleteYou've been too long gone!
