Well, THIS is good news!

Mr. M was taken in by a neighbor. I haven't seen him for some time...she's making him an inside cat.

  2. I hope he becomes a fat lazy old lap kitty.. who loves to have his tummy scratched and his ears rubbed.

    1. He was so wary, initially, but he really was quite sociable the last time I saw him. He probably had multiple people taking care of him. Somewhere along the line, he made the decision that people weren't so bad after all.

  6. Hard to believe such a hard bitten old codger, in every sense, would roll over to be a belly scratched indoor cat.

    1. I really don't think that Mangey was an old cat at all. This is a run down part of town. People move in and out all the time, and they leave cats behind. I'm going to guess that he was at one time, a pet. He was abandoned when his owners moved. His skittishness is a defense mechanism. I don't think he was old enough to be 'hard bitten'.

    1. The strange thing is, not really. I'd have probably wound up keeping him, if he was amenable. Not all of them are. I still see one around that I did try to bring in. He did not want to be an indoor cat. I took care of Mangey because he was outside and was sick. He was a pet project for awhile. (See what I did there?) But he's being taken care of. I would like to walk over and talk to her and see what she named him and how he's adapting. He was really so very sociable the last time he was here. I get the idea he'd adapt well to a new life of ease. Meanwhile, there is a tabby cat that runs up the driveway every time it sees me. It waits under a truck for me to set out a bowl of food. Funny thing? For all his complaining, Tim is filling the little dish when a cat stops in.

  8. Oh, good! At least we know his mange will continue to be controlled and he will be cared for.

    1. Visiting with a tenant today, I met 'Henry' another feral. She says that there is a whole squadron of cat tenders. There are other cats with mange, and they are treated as well. That's pretty cool to know, isn't it?

A Better Day

First of all, I want to thank every single person who recommended 'Puckoon'. Oh my gosh. It has been a long time since I laughed so...
