1 Day

 Tomorrow is the day.

Just to keep things exciting, however, we've got a sleet storm coming over night. It may reach this far north. It may not.

(Just to keep things exciting).

In studying the situation, we've got a two hour drive to the airport. I also need to be there two hours early, which means we will need to leave four hours early, which means we need to leave the house at 9 AM.

The one thing that we know for sure is that the ice storm is not going to be as far north as Buffalo, so if we can make our way through it, there should be no flight delays due to weather anyway.

I'll spend the day putting the last minute things in my back pack, sitting it in the bathroom so that I can toss everything in tomorrow.

  3. Almost there! If you want to keep track of your flight (beyond what Delta says), try flightaware.com (just enter your airline and flight number). It will give you details on your plane's status and flight path.

Here's hoping there are no problems getting to the airport and beyond. Have a great trip. Will be following you over the Pond in a couple of weeks. Always like returning home for me as I grew up there (British mother). Enjoy every minute with your daughter and have fun exploring.

  6. So close now. Almost there.
I always worry so much that I'll be late for my flight that I book a room at one of the airport hotels for the night before travelling. It means one less thing for my overactive worry gland to obsess about.

  7. I always worry about flights this time of year for the reasons you mentioned. Flying in the summer doesn't worry me nearly as much.

    Have a good trip!

  11. Tick, tick, tick. That's the sound of the minutes ticking by until you can FINALLY board the plane and fly away. (NOT the sound of a ticking time bomb)

  15. We always hit the ground running. My son liked us to stay up until there bed time and we adjusted a little by the next day. He had travel the world over and found that was the best for him, worked for us also. The last trip we went to a German party with some of his friends, it was fun but we were ready for a nights sleep when we got to his house/
