Retired.

Since the holidays, suddenly things went very quiet at work. Not sure why, but we worked a lot of half days. I'm okay with that. Things began to pick up this week though.

Today was my last day.

I'm not sure that it has sunk in yet, but I can tell you that I'm ready for this. They announced a return to 10 hour days on Monday.

Not sorry to be done with it.

  4. Great timing! Sounds like they didn't beat you up with bizarre hours your last work days, but it also sounds like the company is returning to its old pattern. Congrats! Just rest for around 10 days, and do nothing. Then you can do all those things you've thought about! Linda in Kansas

  9. Such a great feeling of release, I bet. That's how I felt anyway after my last day in a job that had begun to make me feel depressed.

  14. I'm doing the 'happy happy joy joy' dance for you. It'll take time to get used to not working. Took me almost a year to detach from 45 years of answering to someone else. Happy days, Debbie. Take care.

  15. That is great news, I am happy for you and congrats. I love retirement and you are young enough to enjoy it. Make the most of it and make some memories. Follow your plans and even more through. If my husband had not gotten sick we would still be traveling. I can close my eyes and just fill my mind with wonderful pictures, I want the same for you and Tim.

  17. It does take a while to get used to it, but as said before, I thoroughly recommend it. Obviously they have to go over to 10 hour days to compensate for all the work you did.
