Tuesday.

Well, the good news is that today was not Monday. Things went much easier. I don't know what my problem was yesterday.

The phone has stopped ringing, so that's happy news. Today, at work, it struck me that I should have asked the two nice people what the scam was. I'm curious what could have gotten people so riled.

I got through the day with some semblance of grace (getting a video of my grand daughter at gymnastics was a wonderful pick me up)  and then I hied myself on over to the court house to vote on my way home.

They have a weather alert up. We are supposed to get three inches of lake effect snow tonight, our first snow of the year.

  1. I get calls starting out Grandma, after a few seconds they say you don't know your grandson. I say a name and they say yes it is and than I feed them lots of things since I know it is not my grandson. I ask them if he remembers this or that, they get so excited thinking I am falling for their scam. I even say how much money do you need, where should I send it. Oh, it has to be a money order to a P.O. box. The more I tell them they agree that is right.. I than tell them I know this is a scam, my grandsons work for a living and do not ask for money from me. They would at least say I love you in the start of the call. They hand up on me, not even a bye.

  3. I had to look up lake effect snow. Is it somehow nicer snow or just snow?

  6. Snow already! Yeesh.

Those scam calls are very strange. I guess there must be a way for a scammer to program their outgoing line to show a different number -- in this case yours? I've never heard of that but it sounds like maybe that's what's going on.

  7. I live near a retirement area and people fall for this grandson thing and send thousands of dollars to these people to help their "grandson." There are warnings in the paper to tell people not to send gift cards or cash to these men. My grandsons would never call and asks me for money.

  8. I remember lake effect snow when we lived in Chicago. They always made it seem like it was "JUST" lake effect snow so not as bad. Sheesh. Snow was snow and just as difficult to drive in.

I'm glad you're here!

A Better Day

First of all, I want to thank every single person who recommended 'Puckoon'. Oh my gosh. It has been a long time since I laughed so...
