Balls. Lots of 'em.

One got away. William is very concerned about this.

Boxes are a good thing.

He doesn't understand all the fuss about thinking outside the box.

Not all balls are created equal.
Some are created bigger than others, and those are fun too.

...plus they make interesting squeaky noises when you rub your hands on them,
and echo-ey sorts of noises when you hit them.

And despite our concerns, he knew what to do with his truck...

He began hippo hauling immediately.

He likes Aunt Cara's taste in clothing.

Shorts which do double duty as a hat.

Cars.

more cars.

Grandpa and Grandma got The Wizard of Oz, with holographic pictures.
Cara believes that flying monkeys have traumatized another generation.

I've never met a child yet that had to be told what to do with a dump truck. :) William obviously had a grand time!!
Younger granddaughter (6 wks) slept through most of our celebration. Older granddaughter (10 yrs) was totally in her element!
Great pictures and seeing him chewing on the box just cracks me up; the kids (and the cats) like the boxes more than anything else in the place. Isn't it wonderfully predictable scene ?~! Happy New Year. May each step we take lead the way to Peace...
Those are great shots, Debby - gotta love little kids at play...
:-)
Awww, what a sweetie! Cardboard boxes are the very best toy.
Did I commend the pics yet? Should have - awesomeness!!

Oh, no, not the monkeys!!!
What a great pictorial. Little kids and boxes. It doesn't seem possible that he's sitting up by himself. He's a keeper!
Hugs, quid
Great pictures of William!
Cute! William is certainly a serious little fellow. He's grown a lot since I last saw a photo of him. He's just the right size to have fun with. I know you all had a wonderful day together.
Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
LOL
Gorgeous photos of an equally gorgeous little boy :)
Belated Merry Christmas to you and your family xxxx
William would get along very, very, well with all of our cats.
Super cute. My 13 year old son still puts all the big boxes to good use! :)
Happy Christmas (I know, but better late than never)!!!
Congratulations on the couch in the last post - and on a successful day, from the sounds.
It goes to show that you don't need fancy gadgets to amuse a toddler! A cardboard box and an imagination go a long way! Great post!
