I don't know...

It's been one of those days.

You know what is really beginning to frighten me? We are taking these exams that are supposed to prepare us for the state certification exam. I am consistently awful at these, ranging in the 60-70 percent range. It is a multiple choice set up where you have to find 'the most right' answer. Today, an answer that I was sure I'd figured out was not the most right answer. The more time that I spend on the test, the worse I do. The teacher tells me that I'm over thinking. I listen to her reasoning, and honest to pete, I don't see where I'm making any more assumptions about the exam than she is. It's just that we're looking in two different directions. I'm earnestly trying to follow her reasoning, because I want to do well, but I'm not getting it. I walked out of there today and all I could think was: "What if, what if, I get all the way through this course and flunk the certification?" I know that it is stupid to look that far ahead. Especially since I manage to scare the puckey-doo out of myself every single time that I do this.

Oh, me of little faith.
I am ashamed.

Hang tight and answer quickly. Check if there is time at the end. Maybe instinctive is what they are after?

Go with your gut. That is usually the answer that comes first. Then go back and review calmly. Calmly. Worst case scenario? You take the test again! But that's not going to happen. You're smarter than you think, ya big eejit. Breathe. Stay calm.

I absolutely HATE those "pick the answer that is most right" tests! I agree with BB and NW... don't overthink it.

And don't worry about something that hasn't happened. Take things one day at a time!

You'll do just fine, Mom. You may have little faith, but the rest of us have enough faith in you to make up for your lack, LOL! :) Now I've gotta work on that myself... clinicals scare the CRAP outta me!

Gaah - blogger and I just had a little fracas.

As I said (before that 24 click tussle), if it says "all of the above" or "none of the above", its probably right.

There is no all of the above, or none of the above. Those sorts of questions I can usually pull out very easily. Generally speaking two of the answers will either be correct, which you can assume the third is correct as well and hit all of the above, or you will see one that is right which rules out none of the above. The problem is that most of the answers are correct, in effect, 'all of the above' (which is not an answer option). You must decide which one is most right.

You could say, "It was the MOST right answer to me." Perspective. It's all about perspective and when we don't share the perspective of another person, I doubt that what is "most right for one" isn't always going to be "the most right" for another, or in all circumstances.

Mush. That seems to be what's most right. MUSH. I'm with you, Debby, I greatly dislike those kinds of tests, because they appear to be based solely on the teacher's perspective.

I like things that are black or white. Solid and easily discerned. Today's world includes lots of opinions based lots of opinions.

Never mind me. I'm rambling. I think like some of the others, you should go with your gut.

Ugh. I hate "most right". When confronted with these tests, always go with your first answer. They're right...don't overthink.
