Nature's Most Perfect Decongestant....

....jalepeno peppers. Dosage? Lots of 'em. Eat them until your nose and eyes are running freely. Man. I do feel better. I can breathe through my nose again. My face does not feel too heavy for the front of my head.

So....anyone got any suggestions for the chest congestion?

Seems like once upon a time some Vick's and a warm washcloth helped. Then, of course, you smell like Vick's the rest of the day.

Yep - gotta love what chillis do to the congestion. Trouble is, the stuff always comes back :( Hope you feel better soon.

Believe it or not, black pekoe tea really helped me the last time I had the creeping crud.

I hope you feel better soon.

For lung congestion that just won't cough clear, use Mucinex and drink plenty of water. The Mucinex does a wonderful job of loosening the chest congestion so you can cough it clear.

For stuffy head and post-nasal drip (constant sinus drainage) use Zyrtec.

If you wait till you are coughing green phlegm and have a fever, you may need to add an antibiotic to the cocktail.

But my first line of defense for hay fever or runny/stuffy nose is the Zyrtec/Mucinex combo. Per my doctor's recommendation.

My prescription for prompt sinus relief is to order egg rolls from the local Chinese restaurant and eat them with plenty of that yellow mustard/horseradish sauce. Man, your sinuses will never be the same again. You'll be able to breathe again...once you can think again.

Deep Heat cream rubbed onto your chest and thoracic region of your back.

There are some patent medicines that don't do much for the cold, but after you take 'em, who cares! Seriously though, they reduce the discomfort from cold symptoms and help you to feel better until the cold has peaked.

Wasabi works for me - really cleans out the sinuses.
