Flummoxed.

I'm in the process of buying my textbooks. Last spring, it was much cheaper to buy them from half.com or from e-bay. This year? Shockingly, only one book was cheaper online. The rest are cheaper at the Campus Bookstore. That surely wasn't right. I thought for sure that I must be missing something. So I went back, collected all the information again, and began looking books up. Yep. Only one book was cheaper, and by the time you factored in the s/h, I was saving less than $9.

Huh.

That's a first. Anyone else discovered the same thing?

Sure sign of the imminent end times. Never heard of such a thing as the campus bookstore being... cheaper?... than the alternatives.

My grandparents helped me out with my books in college and had to sell quite a bit of stock for that every semester.

Shenanigans are most definitely afoot!

Your grandparents want to adopt me? :)

I found it depended entirely on the book. For some books that were used for a lot of classes and were a very common text, it was cheaper at the campus store.

We've got a couple of bookstores that specialise in 2nd hand text books and are a fair bit cheaper than anywhere, including the campus shop.

Seems like my kids found that the "used" section in the campus bookstore was almost always the way to go.
