The Deep Blue C

We got our tests back in lecture. (Remember that big test that I studied all weekend for?) I got a C. I was pretty blue about that. I had really studied for it. To add insult to injury, I got another C in the lab practical held the same day. The lecture teacher was thrilled with our efforts. No one failed. I guess that's never happened in a summer class before.

I think that I did very well on the test we had today in lab. That should help balance out those two awful Cs. We have another test tomorrow. Another opportunity to raise those Cs. I'd better get to it.

22 more days and I can read my new book.

Sorry about the C's.

Try to keep in mind that you're still learning how to study, and how to tackle those tests, manage the labs, and everything else that goes along with being a first-year student. It'll get better; stay strong and hang in there! We're cheering for you!

By the way, it could be that the mode of the test scores was a C. Maybe you didn't do as poorly as you think.

But you passed! I think that is admirable given the short lead-up and amount you had to assimilate. Your knowledge will build on the foundation you now have and it will get easier, believe me - and you will even find it interesting enough to seek it out. Congratulations again Deb, on another milestone.
A nice story about the customer at work who noticed. We just never know who is 'seeing' do we? Hope he made it easier for you. One consolation I always think is that I don't have to live with their negative attitudes inside me, while someone like that mgr has to probably deal with it inside her most of the day until she decides to change herself. Not always easy to decide and control our reactions to others, but good when we can.
Great news also about the book. Don't know how good my self-control would be if it was right beside my bed! I guess if all the other pressures and tiredness when you get there are sufficient they would re-inforce the self control bit!

Good luck with the next test. Love Barb

A C in the class wouldn't be the end of the world, especially as hard as it's been.

Still...it's not over and you may well do better than a C. Just don't get discouraged. Keep on doing the best you can! I have confidence in you!

Read your new book, now.

To hell with those C's.

A,B,C,D...Z... it's all part of the same damned alphabet.

Oh my gosh! I was thinking (by how the way the test went) that a D would be fabulous! I'm really proud of you to have pulled off a C in such a difficult class in such difficult circumstances. Yea for you!

I'm sure you will pull it up with the next one.

Cut yourself a little slack, sister, you are doing great!
