Pop Quiz

We had a pop quiz today. My first test. I got an 83. Not stellar, but you know, it's okay. I feel like I'm getting my footing.

LATE EDIT: Okay, let me make it clear. Perfectly clear. I'm not unhappy with the 83 (which would be a B, Novel Woman). What I was saying is that it was not stellar compared to about a half dozen other kids who got 100 per cent. I think it was a good solid test score, and it proves that I am studying properly. I was happy about the grade. Hopefully this makes BB and Mrs. Spit feel better about my 'impossibly high standards'. Bill? Still haven't figured out who rode Tonto's horse....right on the tip of my tongue...

Was it on a curve? For all we know, maybe you got an "A." I suppose if the curve was really high, it might have been a "C" or even a "D", but I doubt it.

Here's another pop quiz for you:

In the old TV series, "The Lone Ranger," who was the man who rode Tonto's horse?

Lol, Bill. Sad part? I cannot tell you who rode Scout. It's on the tip of my tongue. Man. I really hate when that happens....

Just making it clear, I'm not unhappy with an 83. I aim higher, naturally, but the thing is, I'm in a class with all these clear eyed bright children. Truly. Not a one of them out of their twenties, many still in their teens. There were perfect papers. I didn't get one of those. My test was in no wise a 'standout', but really, it was a good solid effort, and a very decent grade. I'm satisfied with it. So I guess that I was saying that it was not a stellar in comparison to about a half dozen kids that got those perfect papers. But most did worse, so I'm okay. Not stellar, but okay. Do you feel better about my standards BB? Mrs. Spit?

Oh for crying out loud. Rejoice, woman! An 83 is an A, isn't it?? And if you don't leave room to improve now, you'll have nowhere to go later.

That's a fantastic grade and you should be proud of yourself. I don't even want to tell you what I'd get in a math pop quiz. Sick to my stomach, most likely.

No, NW. It would be a B. Sigh. I'm not unhappy with it. I was saying that it was not stellar compared to others...

Glad you have one under your belt! *whew*

A B is pretty solid for someone still getting her feet underneath her after years away from school and studying. However I wouldn't be satisfied with it either. Personally, I've never needed to be THE BEST in class, but I wanted my own best to be excellent.

It is just the first test of man and I'm sure it's onward and upward from here.

83?
WOW! Thats a lot!
Although it is just a B, its still good!
Here's some advice to make it an A though:
Make your own test with all the exact same questions as the one you took, then make it if you get a 80 or higher you get an A!
How do you think I make so many A(s)

More power to you Deb - 83 is a very good score (only just missed an A by 1-2 marks!)
.
I went back to uni study last year and I think we "mature age" students(ie over 22 years old) place very high standards on themselves (I know I did). The trick is being able to study and pass without driving yourself insane (I fell into the latter category, but I couldn't have kept that pace up for longer than my 1-year Grad Dip course).
Go You.

TONTO!

and Deb i want to keep hearing test scores! my Lindsey will call me and say "mom I got 105 on my test, out of 100" - they get extra credit questions and she gets EVERYTHING right. that kid it a whiz... and the funny thing is, she makes a point of telling me that she called me FIRST and she has to hang up now and tell her dad SECOND... and now my Andria is in nursing school and i got a text from her the other day, "i got 100 on my 50 question math test" (which i assume means the questions were 2 points each...) so far my youngest Hilary has not had a test i guess because i told her i expect status reports from her too.
