Used to it.

I've pretty much given up the wig, only wearing it to church on Sunday. I can't work in it. It is too hot. Also, after one day of working with it, I caught a glimpse of myself in the rear view mirror. My hair was standing on end, and the wig itself was askew and cocked forward. I looked like Donald Trump. I've begun to wear a scarf, or a bandana. I was quite self conscious about it at first. I felt like I needed an eyepatch, and like I should be yelling "ARRRRRRGGGHHHH, matey!" but now I'm used to it. By the end of the summer, I imagine that I'll have given up the bandanas too. My own hair will be disheveled and blowing in my eyes. Oh, I just can't wait to get used to that.

I think your hair will be ready for a trim by June...

I am getting tired of my wig too ... for all the same reasons. They look O.K. for a while when they are new but quickly look disheveled.

I'm ready to toss it to the dog :)

I'm right there with ya! And they itch and leave dents in your head. Scarves are so much more comfortable.

You had me laughing with the Donald Trump comment AND the pirate talk!

that's got to be the best feeling, your hair coming back! YAY!!!
Ditch the wig. You're back and better than ever!

Arrrrgh!!! I like the eye patch idea.

I live with 9 and 11 year old boys. I also work with special education kids, elementary age, every day. The clothes and jewelry I wear on a regular basis delight the kids and make other teachers laugh. Actually, around here the elementary teachers often have fun with they way they dress on a regular basis....hats, shirts, shoes, you name it! :)

One of the team leaders I'm working with at the moment completely shaves her head on a regular basis. She's tiny and the look is fantastic on her! It's her hairstyle of choice for the moment.

I bet you look cute in the bandanna. It probably looks like part of your work ensemble.

My computer is still messed up, but it is at the computer doctor's...my geeky son has it. I'm hopeful for a full recovery. Hope you are well.

When I was a baldy (a few years ago now) I wore a scarf a lot. I suppose I was young and self conscious, but I actually took a lot of pride in making it look nice. It was an accessory, and eventually I got over wondering if people were thinking I was bald. I smiled brightly and thought: to heck with it.

That's why I sent you that scarf... I hope it was cotton (I cannot remember now!) I think even if I went bald again now, I would do the same thing. Just accessorise and have fun with it. I cannot imagine wearing a wig and worrying it would be askew... Although that does sound a bit like a Rowan Atkinson skit!!!
