Cold

It's -6 degrees today.
It could be worse.
If we used the celcius scale, it would be -21.
(If I'm laughing, my face can't freeze.)

I feel a little guilty when I think about what much of the country is going through with this cold spell. We've had outrageously nice weather here in northern California for the last couple of weeks; a few days ago a record high was set for the date. I was outside after dark last night in a t-shirt.

Sorry. I'm not gloating. Really.

We got down to 8 degrees last night--which is almost unheard of here. Today it will climb to a balmy 20 degrees with a wind chill of minus ten.

Naturally this would be the night our central heating would go out.

It's 7 degrees here in Middle TN. Hey Debby, let's meet at Hal's for dinner. Hal, let's do Mexican tonight. I'll stop and pick up some Dos Equis.

Good plan, Bob. Anyone else in? Second burning question? Do we actually tell Hal, or just show up on his doorstep? Yeah. It could be a surprise (shock?)

OOooh, Mary, no heat?!!!! Yikes. Bundle up the boys, we're heading over to Hal's place. We're doing Mexican. I found some excellent chipotle salsa that should warm us right up. PS. Don't tell Hal we're coming.

Cool. I'm on my way. I'll bring my tequilla-lime salsa and the left-over Brandy from Christmas (I know it's not Mexican, but it's what I've got . . . )

Yeah. I'm sure Hal will be happy to see us all coming up his driveway . . .

Brrrr, and I thought ny 15 degrees this morning when I left for work was cold. I'd say this is snuggle up weather. Good thing you have someone to snuggle with.

I loved your haiku. You've won the prize for best of show....I'll send some balmy breezes your way...as soon as they arrive here.

Once you are done with main course at Jeanie's, you can all pop over here (only 3 hours away) for dessert... some of Jeanie's carrot cake (rescued from our catering effort on the weekend) awaits...

Temp: 32 degrees C (no, I am not converting, but it's balmy!)
