Little Stuff

You know how, sometimes, we create these to-do lists for ourselves, and we prioritize everything, and sometimes the low priority stuff just gets transferred to the next to-do list, and sometimes this happens for long periods of time? Well. I got the laundry caught up, and I have meals prepared in advance and in the freezer again. I've swept the basement. Washed all my rugs. Waxed the kitchen and bathroom floors. But also, those little things are getting done. I cleaned my CD case out the other day. Today, I found myself ripping the keyboard apart, and cleaning it. Cleaned the front door. Wiped the dog smudges off the patio doors. Now I'm looking at things like 'cleaning the junk drawer out in the kitchen'.
************************
I wonder what happens when a person gets 'caught up'?
I'm just curious.
It's never happened to me before.
How about you?

Never been even close to it happening... let me know if you cross into a different plane of existence please? Me? I'd read a magazine. Heh!

Well, I just suppose I would have to resort to reading blogs, wouldn't I?

It has never happened, so I sneak them :)

It's never happened to me so I'm not the person to ask. I do have a suggestion for you...come to my house...I need all the help I can get. Or you could relax and enjoy a good book or a movie. That is what I would do...heck....that's why I never get caught up!

Sometimes the high-priority things at the top of my list migrate to the next one. Heh. I don't think I'll ever get completely done. Let us know how it feels, eh?

I have no idea what that would be like. Right now I just pretend like things are caught up so I can do something fun. Next fun time includes going seeing the "Australia" movie on Wednesday.

I'm with Bob. Sometimes I fail to even think about what's on the top of my priority list. Completely done? Can't even fathom such a thing.

At work I'm only rarely caught up.

At home, RedWifey will never allow herself to be caught up. She is infamous for immediately adding 10 super-difficult things to the list if the list gets too short.

Redlefty - Redwifey is an interesting soul. I don't get that at all. I'll think about it while I pull the last of my three pies from the oven, rolls and cinnamon rolls ready to go in.
MOVE, WILL YA?!!

Everybody else, yeah. I never have been caught up before, but I have this uneasy feeling that if I actually was, even for a minute, that life as I know it would stop. Wait. It already has. Well. Okay. I'm going to go read a book.

A message for you awaits on my blog.

I have kids living at home; I'm never caught up. There's always one more load of laundry to do, one more pair of socks to pick up from the lounge room floor, one more pile of dirty dishes...

I dare say that if you ever 'caught up' then you have no need for a list and you'd feel abit listless. :)

I'm right there with Stevie Wren. I enjoy reading and goofing around too much. I never ever get caught up. What is the deal with laundry? Over and over again. I seem to be the Clutter Queen.

The idea of such has me rolling on the floor. What would we have to aspire to then?
I can ALWAYS find something else that needs to be done. Without fail. I think you're the same way. Besides, how many freakin houses do y'all have? Get that one shipshape and go to one of your other ones, lol. You are one of the busiest people I've ever "known"!

DavidM - I've heard it said 'the louder the groan, the better the pun'. That was a good one.

Yeah, Mikey, you're right. I took a serious look around, and was able to find plenty more to do. I'm busy? Dear heavens. You make me look like a slug.

Everyone else: Yup. I realized the whole catching up thing is an illusion. I won't actually ever get there. It's just I've never had a clean key board at the same time that I've had no spots on the patio doors and clean rugs and waxed floors. It throws you off, just a bit. Your reality becomes skewed. Hence the post.

This doesn't exactly answer your question about being "caught up" (and no, I never am and don't remember ever being so in my adult life anyway) but the comments from Redlefty about his wife made me chuckle. My wife loves to makes lists and if she does something that wasn't on the list, she'll put it on there just so she can strike through it!
