Winnable War

I sat in the waiting room today, with Tim at my side. The appointment was at 4. I did not get seen until 5. Summing it up: While the tumor was large and had begun to invade lymphatic ducts, there was no lymph node involvement. They removed 17 nodes, which was a shock to both of us. The PET/CT scan showed no cancer found anywhere else. This is a winnable war. Thank God.
Did you ever just feel sick with relief?
I'm also, right this minute, speechless.
(That doesn't happen often.)
Thank you all for everything.
You've been great.

I've been feeling speechless a lot ever since you discovered the lump. I have three things to say about today's good news. Praise The Lord!!

I'm still amazed that your cancer got so far before you discovered it. It doesn't seem possible, even to me.

A winnable war...that is good news!

PS - my almost-favourite part of this post? Besides the "no cancer anywhere else" bit? The "with Tim by my side" bit.

(Swear warning ahead people..)

Bloody great, mate!

Oh and your post below. Blew me away about your dad. Mine died 11 years ago, from lung cancer, on Thanksgiving Day, right at the time we would usually eat as a family. Girl, we got a lot in common it seems.

Glad you're stick around for a long time. We love you!
